How many times have you looked into your gold pan after carefully panning it down and seen no gold, just worthless black sands. If your like me and thousands of others you probably dumped it out right there and moved on to greener pastures. Right? Well just maybe you dumped concentrates worth hundreds, even thousands of dollars per ton. How were you supposed to know that the gold was locked up with black iron (magnetite) or stained black or brown from manganese oxides. Or how were you to know that sample of worthless black sands you just threw away contained silver,  platinum, rhodium, tungsten, molybdenum, nickel, tin, cobalt or other very valuable elements.
Or, how many interesting looking rocks have you tossed aside, seeing no visible gold. These same rocks that carried microscopic gold, or any of the other valuable minerals and elements mentioned above.

Well, I personally have in my rock collection samples from Carlin, Nevada that carry over 2.5 ounces of gold per ton, yet there is no visible gold. And a few months ago I was about to dump the worthless black sands from my gold pan and went ahead and sent them off to an assayer. About 3 weeks later the results came back. Thirty one ounces of gold and five ounces of silver. Yet, not a speck of gold was visible in my pan.

The solution is simple enough, when in doubt,
ASSAY....

I suggest you contact several of these labs prior to sending them sample material. Each lab's prices will vary and their turn around time will also vary. With the current gold rush starting into full swing 30 days from the time you ship the samples to them until the time you get results back would be pushing it. Prices and turn around time will also depend on the number of samples you are sending them. Most labs offer a RUSH ORDER option for an additional fee of course.
